Spurious Missives

Thanks for surfing onto Spurious Missives.  This blog is intended as a vehicle to voice opinions on diverse subjects.  Just so you will not be surprised, let me clear the air on my political, religious,  and economic positions.

I am a proud and unapologetic conservative, and an unapologetic Christian.  Fiscal and economic conservatism influence my opinions on many things, and I usually have a specific reason for my opinion.  Some things are very emotional to people, and the emotional subject with me is abortion.

In the abortion arena the facts are on the side of the preservation of life.  Strawman arguments like, “a woman has the right to do what she wishes with her body” are just bunk.  Nobody can do what they want with their body.  If you want to do drugs you will find yourself either institutionalized, in jail, or both.  If you unsuccessfully try to commit suicide you will be institutionalized. This happens all the time.  Keep your euphemisms to yourself.

Having an engineering education, sometimes I will get technical, boring most people to death.  There are a few people out there who let me know when I am getting dangerously technical.  Sometimes this cannot be helped, as in the criticism of the so-called global warming issue.  Things got warmer in the last 30 years of the 20th century, but, the average global temperature has remained flat or even gotten cooler in the 21st century.
